The Latte Factor ~ By David Bach

If you don’t know where you’re going, you might not like where you end up.

Pay yourself first

What pay yourself first means is that the first person who gets paid as you – and you keep that money.

I believe that each one of us was put here on this earth, to do something, something special. Something no one else can do. And most of us aren’t doing it – because we're too busy paying everyone else first.

Don't budget - make it automatic

The idea of a personal budget sounds sensible, in theory, but in the real world, it doesn’t work.  By setting up a simple Automatic system, ‏ it takes zero discipline, zero self-control, zero willpower. Just set it up and let it run.

Money is the biggest reason marriages fail - but it’s not money itself, and not even the lack of money. It’s the lack of talking about it and working it out together.

Myth 1

Make more money and you’ll be rich. How much you earn has almost no bearing on whether or not you’ll become financially solid. Most people think they have an income problem. They don’t, they have a spending problem. Your money problems come from your money habits., and these don’t change just because your income goes up. What makes you financially set for life isn’t a bigger income. It’s smart saving and investing.

Making the money isn’t the problem, the problem is keeping it.

Myth 2

It takes money to make money.

Myth 3

Someone else will take care of you. There is no prince charming coming with a big bag of cash, you have to be your own prince charming. Everyone spends money every day, and as they do they're building wealth. Everyone builds wealth, the only question is for whom?

The point isn’t that you can’t spend money. Of course, you can, and you should. Life is to enjoy, you can buy yourself whatever things you truly want. As long as you pay yourself first.

Do you know how to make your dreams come true? you buy them a dollar at a time.
